Our goal is for every child to achieve the “triple win” :
This way, children make the important step from counting on their fingers to working things out in their heads.
Early addition and subtraction are the building blocks of maths. When children can confidently add and subtract small numbers, they develop the strong foundations needed for tackling more complex calculations, spotting patterns, and making sense of new concepts. The programme complements what your child is learning in school and secures any gaps in knowledge.
Have a look at this guide, which explains some of the mathematical representations students will tackle during NumBots.
From sharing toys and snacks to working out change in a shop, early number confidence helps them solve problems, make decisions, and build independence in real life.
A strong foundation in addition and subtraction helps children feel confident with numbers, giving them the courage to take on more challenging maths with success!

Help Rusty the robot level up from Rust to Diamond! With colourful visuals and small step pictorial questions, children build a strong foundation while having fun.
Children put their story mode practice to the test with quick-fire questions. Once Challenge Mode is unlocked, your child can explore all challenges straight away, allowing them to practise freely and build confidence without restrictions.

Available to play via our play website or on our app for mobiles and tablets.
Here are a few suggestions to get you started:

Our series of growth mindset stories are designed to help children adopt positive attitudes towards their learning. They’re free to watch on YouTube.
Our priority is to keep your children safe, which is why thousands of schools and families trust us to provide age-appropriate content and protect their data.
Many of us are parents and consider the same things as you do when it comes to screen time and online safety. By default, your child will appear as their bot name on leaderboards. A bot name is a unique robot-themed username given to each child when they log in for the first time. These names are generated by us.
We have a great summary which you can read here.
Great! The old school account can be teleported to their new school, so they can keep playing. Please send this link to their new teacher at their new school who can complete this process.
Yes! You can purchase a family subscription and teleport their account to that, so they can keep playing. Click here to follow the instructions.
Sometimes children resist practising because they don’t feel successful. Try making it casual and fun; play games at the kitchen table, in the car, or at bedtime. Laugh, cheer progress, and keep it light.
You can also type answers while they call them out to boost confidence, but avoid doing the work for them. The goal is for your child to feel successful and enjoy learning.

Children often take cues from what adults say about maths. Phrases like “I’m not good at maths” can make them think maths isn’t for everyone, or that they might not be good at it either.
Instead, try positive or optimistic messages. For example:
When helping with homework or NumBots, avoid saying “I’m not a maths person.” Model a confident, can-do attitude, it helps your child believe in themselves and enjoy learning.
