Ahhh Launch Day. A cacophony of face-paint, recycled cardboard boxes and hairspray! But, more importantly, a day to kickstart a schoolwide passion for maths.

Each year that goes by we see more and more creative, engaging, and memorable launch days. On top of this, we’ve read some brilliant launch day tricks and tips straight from the minds of fellow teachers. Combining our array of resources with the creative genius of the teachers of launching past, we’re sharing our Launch Day best practices!

TIP 1 – DRESS UP!

This is the first step in letting the children feel like rock stars for the day? Did we say children? Obviously we mean staff too! Anyone and everyone can get involved with this: children, staff, parents and even the PTA!

TIP 2 – HOLD AN EPIC ASSEMBLY!

Launch Day Assembly is the perfect time for a Certificate Ceremony. We have a wide range of certificates for you to choose from, the most popular are always the ‘Stage Certificates’.

TIP 3 – ACTIVATE ACTIVITIES MODE!

TIP 4 – DASHING DISPLAYS!

Dazzle your classroom with an all-singing and all-dancing classroom display! If you manage to find 10 minutes to vamp up the classroom walls then head over to Downloads, click Displays, and you will find yourself in a whole new electric, immersive world of classroom display resources.

TIP 5 – REWARDS AND AWARDS!

Celebrating successes is always important, but receiving your Stage Completion Certificate whilst dressed as Megatron? There is no greater honour.

The generic certificates can be used however you like! Here are some ways we’ve seen them used:

  1. Most Improved.
  2. Consecutive Daily Logins.
  3. Most Coins.
  4. Best Dressed.

So you there you have it. Time to fish out those old cardboard boxes; it’s time for launch off.
